Our club’s name, The Pylon Club, draws inspiration from the Greek word ‘πυλών (pylon)’, meaning "gate." In ancient Egyptian temples and large architectural structures, a pylon referred to monumental gateways shaped like towers.

A pylon functions both as a tower that supports a structure and as an entrance. Inspired by this dual role, we named our club The Pylon Club, aiming for it to be both a supportive pillar and a welcoming club for your life in Korea.

In Korean, there’s a saying that “a good neighbor is better than a distant relative.” Like family by proximity, a neighbor can be an equally strong source of support. We aim to bring this sense of “neighborly” connection into our club.

The Pylon Club hopes to foster a club where everyone who loves Korea and is interested in life here becomes each other’s ‘EEUT’, building mutual respect and trust.

우리의 클럽은 그리스어 πυλών(gate)에서 유래한 ‘Pylon’ 에서 영감을 받아 탄생했습니다. 이 단어는 고대 이집트의 신전이나 큰 건축물에서 탑 모양으로 만든 문을 가리킵니다.

Pylon은 건축물을 지탱해주는 탑으로서, 그리고 그 안으로 들어갈 수 있는 문으로서 기능합니다. 우리는 이 점에 착안해 ‘The Pylon Club’이 당신의 한국 생활에서 든든한 기둥으로서, 그리고 함께할 수 있는 클럽으로서 기능하길 바라는 마음을 담아 이름을 정하게 되었습니다.
